Introduction
Zembula reads Canpar tracking from Canpar's tracking web service. You don't need a Canpar account, key or password for it, so there is nothing to create or paste. Zembula sends Canpar only the tracking number. It never creates shipments or changes anything at Canpar.
This guide covers connecting Canpar in the Zembula platform and using it in your content.
Who can do this
You don't need a Canpar account or key to connect Canpar.
In Zembula, only account Admins can connect Canpar. Other users can open the Package Tracking page, but they can't change it.
Before you go live
Each time an image with Canpar tracking loads, Zembula asks Canpar for the latest scans. So each email open can make a call to Canpar.
Talk to your Zembula team before you use Canpar tracking in a large send.
Connect Canpar in Zembula
You don't need any Canpar account details, so there's nothing to paste.
In the Zembula platform, open Data Sync → Integrations and select the Data integrations tab.
Click Set up on the Package Tracking tile. If Package Tracking is already set up, the button reads Open instead.
If Package Tracking is off, click Turn on. The page shows Setting up the builder source… and then Use INTERFACES › Package Tracking in the builder.
Under Carriers, click Add on the Canpar row.
The row reads Canpar needs no account details — connect it to add it to your tracking. Click Connect.
The Canpar row then reads Connected — starts answering within the hour.
If order data is live for Package Tracking, the Canpar row reads Connected — waiting: carriers and order data can't run together until the next release. To switch, click Use Canpar instead and confirm. This turns order data off and Canpar on. Content that sends only an order ID then shows your fallback.
To stop using Canpar, click Disconnect on the Canpar row.
Try it
Add INTERFACES › Package Tracking to a draft image in the builder, turn on Simulate, and preview it with a Canpar tracking number. If a number you know is real shows no tracking, check that your content sends the carrier.
The Status section at the bottom of the Package Tracking page also lists anything that needs attention.
Using Canpar in your content
Send each package's tracking number in tracking_number and its carrier in carrier. Zembula doesn't work out the carrier from the tracking number, so always send the carrier.
Any carrier value that contains Canpar goes to Canpar, in any case. For example: Canpar, CANPAR, Canpar Express or canpar_ground.
Canpar tracking numbers are 21 or 22 characters long. Zembula removes spaces and upper-cases the number before it asks Canpar.
What shoppers see
Status: the stage of Canpar's latest scan, such as In Transit, Out for Delivery or Delivered. A scan Zembula can't classify reads In Transit.
Before the first scan: when Canpar has the shipment but hasn't scanned it yet, the status reads Label Created, dated on the shipping date.
Latest scan: the most recent scan Canpar reports when the image loads, with its city and province and the local time Canpar gives.
Estimated delivery: Canpar's estimated delivery date, when Canpar gives one. Zembula shows the date only. After delivery it reads Delivered, with the time of the delivery scan.
Pickup at a SMARTSpot: when Canpar holds the package at a SMARTSpot, the status reads Ready for Pickup, with the SMARTSpot's name and address.
Tracking link: the package's Track a Package page on canpar.com.
Manage delivery link: while the package is still on its way, a link to Canpar's Delivery Options page for it. There the shopper can, for example, redirect it to a SMARTSpot or give a new address. The action link for a missed delivery or an address problem goes to the same page.
A number Canpar has no record of reads as not found: Tracking.API.error is not_found, so your content can show a fallback.
